A Home Away from Home

At Kumudini Devi School and college of Nursing, we recognize the importance of a comfortable and supportive living environment for our students. That’s why we provide well-furnished hostel and mess facilities within the campus, fostering a sense of community and promoting a conducive learning environment.

Maintaining a Clean and Tidy Environment
Students are responsible for maintaining their hostel rooms clean and tidy. This includes keeping beds made, floors swept, and personal belongings organized. Any loss or damage to furniture or fixtures will result in fines being imposed accordingly.
Safeguarding Personal Property
Students are encouraged to use proper locks for cupboards and boxes to safeguard their personal belongings. The institute administration takes precautionary measures to ensure the safety and security of the hostel premises, but it is ultimately the responsibility of each student to protect their valuables. Jewellery and expensive items should be kept at home or in a secure location, as the institute will not be liable for any theft, loss, or damage to personal belongings.
Responsible Resource Utilization
Wastage of water and electricity is a serious concern, and students are expected to use these resources responsibly. Excessive wastage may lead to disciplinary action.
Attire and Conduct
Students are expected to maintain a professional appearance when coming to the hostel or canteen. They should dress modestly and adhere to the institute’s dress code.
Reporting Sickness
In case of sickness, students should immediately inform the Principal or Warden. Prompt reporting of illness ensures that students receive timely medical attention and prevents the spread of contagious diseases.
Electrical Appliances
The use of electrical cooking or heating appliances in hostel rooms is strictly prohibited. This is to prevent potential fire hazards and maintain the safety of all residents.
Visitor Guidelines
Visitors are not allowed to enter students’ rooms without prior permission from the Warden. This ensures that students’ privacy and security are maintained.
Consequences of Misconduct
In case of gross misconduct, such as ragging, substance abuse, or any act that disrupts the peaceful and harmonious environment of the hostel, a student may face expulsion from the nursing school. In such cases, fees paid will not be refunded.
Management Authority
The management reserves the right to modify or amend the hostel rules and regulations at any time. These changes will be communicated to all hostel residents promptly.
Adherence to Rules
The hostel rules and regulations, as declared by the management, are binding on all hostel residents from the date of allotment of their hostel seats. Students are expected to adhere to these rules to ensure a safe, comfortable, and respectful living environment for all.

Strict Consequences for Ragging
Any student found guilty of ragging will face strict disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion from the hostel and/or the institute. We take a firm stance against ragging and will not show any leniency towards those who engage in this unacceptable behavior.
